The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other options and makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.
It's very quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one sweep. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes into contact with rugs, and the two side brushes help draw away debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as good. The mop rotates quickly and utilizes 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful in difficult corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can be used to sweep larger objects, such as broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It doesn't make as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to install and is effective however, this is something you'll need to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.
The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home and also identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and efficiently. This leads to a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite fast.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching many different surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor close to the walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be washed and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It's crucial to note that it incurs recurring costs, such as mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be changed every one to three months.
This robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. These include the power button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home' button that will send it back to its base station after completing the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and wash and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who wants to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and long battery life that allows you to keep your home tidy with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot comes with two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which can help to protect certain areas of your home from being scrubbed with mop.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair from pets. It was able to capture some of the hair our cats shed, and even made it into the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots had struggled. It was fairly quiet and even had some nice jingles that signalled when it was about to start or completing its task.
The biggest flaws were its simplistic app and the necessity to switch out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app is not able to keep multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can mop and vacuum.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it has some unique features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni is most notable for its massive dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.
The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start cleaning and then recall the robot or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets entangled in an obstacle like a power cable draped over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. This was a rare occurrence however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert in its app.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually swap between the two, which isn't a big deal except for the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant change from the utilitarian all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market that is dominated by clunky boxy models.
